My Review:

This series is fantastic. And I don’t just mean some of the books or even a few of them, but, Every. Single. Book. in the Kate Daniels series.

With a lot of series the first few books will be great, and then the story will start to slip a bit. Sometimes the story picks up again, other times, it just keeps slipping. Not so with these books.

You should read this series in order. The story is so multi-layered that you will receive more enjoyment out of the books if you don’t miss books or skip around. And characters just become more and more developed.

I know I’m telling you nothing about the plot, but that’s because if you’ve been reading from the beginning, you will not want spoilers. And if you need get the first book, Magic Bites, then me telling you about the plot to this one is pointless.

I will say that Kate grows even more in this book, and I didn’t think that was possible. Her aunt makes for some wonderful comic relief, and we finally get the showdown with her dad that has been coming for quite some time. But before that, we get to see glimpses into what Roland use to be like, and why he ended up turning into the man he currently is.

Another great book in this series, and I am really looking forward to the next one.
